The Challenge
The growth and expansion of the Poundland business has been watched by the UK Retail Industry. Poundland’s growth and customer value proposition has grown from strength to strength, with the buy out of 99p Stores and the recent purchase by Steinhoff International, the range of products and price points for Poundland have changed dramatically.
Historically the £1 price point for singular or multiple products enabled ease of ticketing. All items were either a promotional bundle or a single price unit. With the introduction of new ranges and multi-price products the need for shelf edge labelling became paramount to legal trading. In addition the need for complex promotions and signage was increasing.
Poundland looked to RMS to provide a flexible ticketing solution which would integrate with a range of data feeds, in order that store specific tickets could be generate for both the Poundland (UK £) and Dealz ( Spain/ROI €) stores, each having their own rounding and promotion needs.
Poundland CONNECT has already been implemented based on RMS’ Unified Comms module. The introduction of RMS Print was a simple extension for the stores.
The Solution
Poundland worked with RMS to deploy the RMS Unified Comms and Print Controller across all their store estate. This enabled Poundland to have a single communication mechanism for their stores, for retail operation communications, task management and store visits. Print Controller is fully integrated into Poundland CONNECT (Unified Comms) to display print tasks, gain print execution and total visibility of requirements.
